この度、KOKI ARTSではマリオ・トレーホ個展「Idiosyncratic Tatntrums」を開催致します。本展はマリオ・トレーホのKOKI ARTSで３回目となる個展です。新作を中心にペインティング12点を展示致します。
マリオ・トレーホの作品は、動的な「印」の蓄積によって特異的なイメージを創出しています。本展の作品のサイズは小さいため、離れて鑑賞するより近寄って観るよう鑑賞者を招いています。今回の新たな試みとしては、新素材（蓄光塗料）やコンセプトでもある加法/減法の一部であるサンディングなどのプロセスを用いたものが数点あり、表現の幅を広げています。
マリオ・トレーホ（1979年生まれ）は、2005年にシカゴ美術館付属美術大学（SAIC）を卒業後、2008年にサンフランシスコ・アート・インスティテュートを修了しました。現在シアトルで制作しています。作品は今までアメリカ各地、カナダ、日本、台湾で展示されています。近年の主な展示では、K. Imperial Fine Art（2018年）やHerringer Kiss Gallery（2017年）での個展があります。
KOKI ARTS is pleased to announce Mario Trejo's solo exhibition, Idiosyncratic Tantrums. This exhibition, showcasing 12 new paintings, will be the third solo exhibition of works by Mario Trejo at the gallery.
Mario Trejo's paintings create idiosyncratic images through the accumulation of repeated gestural marks. The size of each piece in this exhibition is small, which helps invite the viewer to closely engage with rather than to view from a distance. For some of the works, Trejo broadens his range of expression by using different mediums (phosphorous paint) and processes such as sanding, which is a part of his additive/subtractive practice.
MARIO TREJO (b.1979) received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005 and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2008. He currently lives and works in Seattle, WA. Trejo's work has been exhibited in the US, Canada, Japan, and Taiwan. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at K. Imperial Fine Art (2018), and Herringer Kiss Gallery (2017).
