広島県出身。東京造形大学で映像を学んだのち、2006年より写真制作を開始。現在は故郷である広島を活動の拠点として、家族の関係性を主なテーマとして制作を行っている

写真を表現媒体としたビジュアル・ストーリーテラー。記憶、家族、事件や歴史をテーマとした長期プロジェクトに取り組んでいる。
少部数限定の手製本による写真集を主な発表媒体とし、2014年パリフォト・アパチャー財団写真集賞ノミネート、2015年Self Publishing PHOTOLUX Award受賞、2018年The Anamorphosis Prize受賞。ニューヨーク近代美術館(MoMA)図書館やヴィクトリア&アルバート博物館をはじめ、各国の美術館や大学図書館に作品が収蔵されている。2016年3月にイタリアの出版社ceibaより普及版の刊行も予定されている。

また、2015年に東京のReminders Photography Strongholdでの展示に併せて刊行した写真集「Incipient Strangers」も、Self Publishing PHOTOLUX Awardを受賞するなど各国で高い評価を得ている。国内外で写真展、講演など多数開催。

2015年に故郷の広島に拠点を移して以降は、被爆3世である自身の視点から広島と戦争の歴史をテーマとして制作を行っている。
作品は、チョビメラ国際フォトフェスティバル（バングラデシュ, 2017年）、ジメイ・アルル国際フォトフェスティバル「Phantom Pain Clinic」 (中国, 2017年)、ブレダ・フォトフェスティバル「To Infinity and Beyond」(オランダ, 2018年)、PHOTO2021「Not standing still: new approaches in documentary photography」(オーストラリア, 2021年)、KG+SELECT (日本, 2021年)、永春堂美術館「Lived Happily Ever After」（台湾, 2022年） などで展示された。
