    展覧会内容

    この度、KOKI ARTSでは吉岡寛晃個展「Hiroaki Yoshioka Exhibition」を開催致します。本展は吉岡寛晃の東京での初個展です。本展では、新作ペインティングを７点展示致します。
    自身の製作を「絵画上の平面像とその対象自体との関係における矛盾を探る行為」とする吉岡は、抽象表現と工業的製造方法という相反する二つの性質を番う製作過程によって、絵画や彫刻といった範疇に属さない純粋なイメージの現出を試みています。
    本展における全ての作品は、一つの150号キャンバスから形取られたシリコンの凹版に、塗装を層状に施すことで得られた“キャンバスの複製”を、各支持体に貼付する方法により製作されています。個々がオリジナルの画面でありながらも、同一の指標をもつコピーとして成立する作品群は、観者が一つの対象を体験することへの疑念を視覚的に示唆しているかのようです。
    吉岡寛晃（1993年生まれ）は、京都造形芸術大学を2015年に卒業後、2017年に同大学院を修了しました。現在、兵庫で制作しています。近年の展示では「Under 29 Artists Exhibition 2016」（GALLERY MoMo Ryogoku）や「Japan Young Artist Exhibition 2017 in SEOUL」（uJung Art Center）などがあります。2018年のARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTOでは鬼頭健吾の推薦で参加しています。作品は今まで東京、京都、大阪、福岡、ソウル、台北で展示されています。

    KOKI ARTS is pleased to announce Hiroaki Yoshioka Exhibition, Hiroaki Yoshioka's first solo show in Tokyo. This exhibition will showcase 7 new paintings.
    Through the usage of two processes with conflicting qualities, abstract expression and industrial manufacturing, Yoshioka, who describes his own artistic practice as "a search for the contradiction between the relationship of the two-dimensional image and the painting itself", attempts to depict an authentic image which cannot be strictly classified as either painting or sculpture.
    All the works in this exhibition are created through the process of adhering "canvas copies" on to each support. These "copies" are obtained by applying multiple layers of paint onto an engraved silicone plate modeled from a 89.5" x 71.5" canvas. While each picture plane is original, the paintings can be established as copies having the same index, which seem to visually challenge the objective experience of viewing a single object.
    HIROAKI YOSHIOKA (b.1993) received his BFA (2015) and MFA (2017) from Kyoto University of Art and Design. Recent exhibitions include "Under 29 Artists Exhibition 2016" (GALLERY MoMo Ryogoku) and "Japan Young Artist Exhibition 2017 in SEOUL" (uJung Art Center). Yoshioka was selected by Kengo Kito to participate in ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2018. Yoshioka's work has been exhibited in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka, Seoul, and Taipei.
