石でできた本の彫刻展
世界中の様々な石を用いて制作された、《ページをめくることの出来ない「石の本」》。
ドイツを代表する彫刻家クーバッハとヴィルムゼンは、石という素材を用い「普遍性」「再生・循環」「世代を超えた情報」といった恒久的なものを創造している。
残念ながらクーバッハは3年前に他界したが、今年8月には安藤忠雄氏が設計した「石の彫刻美術館」が地元ドイツに完成。
およそ40年にわたる2人のライフワークは結実しました。
今回、27年前より彼らの作品を紹介してきたギャラリー新居では、80～90年代の作品約20点を展示します。
Stone books sculpture exhibition
Created from many different stones in the world are the books with the unturnable page.Famed sculptors of Germany, Kubach and Wilmusen have been using stone materials, creating works with eternal themes like universality, rebirth/cyclicality and information overcoming generations.
Unfortunately Kubach passed away 3 years ago, but in this August “The Stone Sculpture Art Museum” architected by Tadao Ando, opened in the pair’s home country Germany. Over approximately 40 years their life’s work has been realized.
The upcoming exhibition will include around 20 pieces from the 1980s to 90s by the Gallery Nii, the same gallery which introduced their works 27 years ago.
