山の麓生まれの私は、山に対して様々な感情を懐きながら育ちました。
いつしかその存在が引き起こす「災害」に興味を抱くようになりました。
災害は、私達の暮らしや命を奪う現象。しかし地震も火山も洪水も、太古の昔から続いてきた自然現象であり、
同時に、地球が、山々が生きている証でもあります。
私達にとっての危機は、地球の命が輝く、美しき瞬間でもあるのです。
この山がちな国で暮らす限り、「美しき山々―あるいは自然―」をただ慈しむだけではなく、
その驚異と向き合っていく必要があるのではないか―と考えています。
I was born in the foot of a mountain, and I've grown up as I hold various feeling to a mountain.
Before I knew it, I got interested in disaster a mountain brought on.
Disaster is phenomena which have claimed our life, but earthquake,
volcano and flood are natural phenomena which have continued from time immemorial,
and at the same time they are the proof that the earth and mountains live.
Danger for us is also a beautiful moment when the earth life shines.
As long as I live in this country with lots of mountains, we need to not only live beautiful mountains but face the miracle.
